Jessica Gomes named as Vogue Fashion's Night Out Ambassador
"The Australian model can’t wait to get back to Sydney and shop with the best on September 8, 2011.
It’s quite a sight to imagine; Jessica Gomes, the honey-skinned model from Perth whose killer curves have seen her work with Victoria’s Secret, P.Diddy and DKNY Jeans, jumping up down with excitement upon learning that she had been selected to be the ambassador for Vogue Fashion’s Night Out, happening on Thursday September 8, 2011. “I was at home and I was so thrilled and happy that I was a part of this huge event,” she says.
The role will see Gomes perform hosting duties and attending a handful of the many Vogue Fashion’s Night Out events, such as fashion shows and in-store parties, that will be held throughout the night across the CBD. This will be Gomes’ first VFNO in Sydney, though she holds fond memories of the New York event she attended last year. “It was very, very cool being able to mingle with the VIPs, be amongst the fashionistas and personally meet the designers,” she recalls.
Although this year she’ll be one of those VIPs, Gomes is still looking forward to being part of the shopping fray, hoping to pick up some special pieces. “I’m also really looking forward to meeting everyone in the Australian fashion industry,” she says. “As well as having a fun night out and enjoying the atmosphere.”
Like the sister events being held in New York, London, Milan, Paris and other major cities, Sydney’s Vogue Fashion’s Night Out will see a host of international brands holding one-off events and offers, allowing shoppers a night of true indulgence. Having experienced this once before, Gomes has a word of advice for newcomers; “Just come along with no expectations,” she says with a wink. “You never know who you’re going to meet.”
